Mailbox Choices For Wall Mounted Household Boxes
No CommentsHomeowners who are expected to have a wall mounted mail box, to allow for convenient carrier access, have more options than ever before. As opposed to being limited by using the typical flip top wall mounted mail box, they have all kinds of other options to consider. Today there are numerous designs of mailboxes that can be mounted on the wall for ease as well as to add an attractive flair to the front of the home.
Various designs and components offer the house owner wall mounted mail boxes that fit into their residence’s style and today’s materials run the spectrum of low cost metals to lumber and even to specific things like brass and stainless steel. They may be found in designs to complement the home on which it is mounted, with cutout windows to both provide ventilation to the contents as well as to permit the homeowner to decide if the mail has been delivered without having to open the box.
Quite a few years ago, there was a huge trend in glass mail boxes which helped people to see what was inside their mailbox before opening it. The trouble was, so could crooks, and these mail boxes were swapped out by ones which could not be seen through. These days, some wall mounted mailboxes also have locks that prevent unauthorized access to the mail. There are essentially two sections in this sort of mailbox; one in which the postal delivery person can drop in the mail an additional locked section that’s readily available only to the individual with the key.
Many of the newer wall mounted mailboxes are made of heavy-duty steel to prevent tampering if they are locked. The key issue with any type or style of wall mounted mailbox is that they must meet, or exceed the requirements of the United States Postal Service. If the postal service has not accepted the mailbox, no mail can be delivered. Most USPS approved wall mounted mailboxes will have a notice placed on the mailbox somewhere. If not, the letter carrier will return your mail to the post office for pickup.
