Legal Cover – Help When It’s Needed Most
No CommentsAlthough we do not wish to think about it, chances are that a lot of people, at one time or another, may need the expertise of a legal professional. You may well be on your way to work one day, minding your own business and traveling very responsibly, when a drunken man or woman can suddenly run across the road and land under your vehicle dead. Although it was not your fault, there will still be an investigation into the matter and the person’s loved ones might decide to try and sue you – where will you find money for very long legal battles? Not all individuals have plenty of spare money lying around Luckily, there are insurance providers (for instance Clientele Legal) that now offers legal cover.
A legal cover policy is very similar to a standard insurance cover policy. If you purchase a car insurance policy for instance, you are admitting that you do not want to have to worry about having pay for extensive repairs following a serious accident. You’re in effect transferring your obligation from yourself to the insurance corporation, and that is what you pay the payments for. The insurance organization then agrees to act in your part (and make payment) when you are involved in an accident and your motor vehicle needs to be repaired or replaced.
The same thus relates to a legal cover policy, such as a Clientele legal policy. You are in fact admitting that you do not want to have to pay for legal advice and expenses on your own and are thus transferring the legal responsibility from yourself to the insurance company in exchange for paying a monthly premium.
Another likeness between a typical insurance plan and a legal cover policy like the Clientele legal policy is that you will be committing to a specific monthly premium in return for this service. There will also be certain exceptions from the policy (once again, similar to motor insurance) and you need to make sure that your insurance agent or broker explains this to you in detail.
In most cases, legal counsel (as offered by insurance providers providing legal cover) is available 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Advice can vary from civil to criminal and labour matters and specialized advisors are able to offer the very best advice from contractual disputes to reckless driving, assault as well as unfair dismissals.
Legal expenses can include anything from your initial consultation with a legal representative, to the costs of court appearances, attorneys, judges and even communication between yourself and the lawyers/attorneys and, understandably, this can add up to a distressing amount.
A legal cover policy is generally very affordable and can either be purchased as a stand-alone policy or as an add-on to one of your current policies. Normally add-on policies are more reasonably priced than standalone policies, but this might vary from one insurer to the next. Make certain you compare and contrast a couple of packages, prices and options before making a knowledgeable decision.
Acquiring legal cover is the sensible thing to do. Do not forget that life can be unjust and you might soon require more help than you bargained for.
